I'm almost 8 months out and I just had blood work done this week as I have been feeling so fatigued and having headaches everyday. My doctor said my Iron is low. My ferritin levels are at 15 so he just started me on an Iron supplement. I havn't loss in 2 months due to the way I've been feeling. The last thing I want to do these days is exercise. Has anyone else gone through this?

Just wondering what were you taking as vitamins/supplements since surgery?

This occurred to me also and about the same time post-op. The Iron in my Flintstone chewable did not seem to be enough so I had to add an Iron supplement. It is important to space the Calcium supplements and the iron supplements at least two hours apart. This I was doing, but about this time I had begun using milk and I suspected that the Calcium in milk was conflicting with the iron. So I moved all my iron to the end of the day, just before I went to bed.

I have been on flinstone Complete chewables and Viactive calcium chews with Vitamin D and B12 injections. I take my flinstone Vitamin in the morning and my Calcium before I go to bed. I read that drinking oj when you take the Iron helps with the absorption. I'm going to take the Iron in the am when i take the flinstone vitamin. good to know about the milk though. I wouldn't have thought of that.

How many Flintstones do you have to take a day?

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
