How to prepare body for a fill?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I had my first fill last week and it was horrible. I landed in the ER. I am trying to figure out what I did wrong! Can the veterans tell me how do you prepare your body for fills? Going to try and convince my surgeon to give me another fill next week to see how my body will react this time around... And input will be greatly appreciated.

I'm on my cell so I can't see your statistical information but in short, you don't prepare for a fill unless your doctor gave you specific instructions to fast before coming in. If you had to go to the er, chances are you were too tight. You may want to suggest small quantities of Fluid. Best wishes and good luck

There is not much you can do to prepare for a fill. The only thing my doctor tells me is not to eat a couple of hours prior to a fill. as listed above you were probably filled too tight if you ended up in the er. small fills are good i think but some people are inpatient and end up having to get Fluid taken out. I had small fills and it took me a while to hit my green zone and the last fill only took 0.2cc. Sometimes after some of my fills i would be more swollen and sore then others but i did the liquids for a couple of days and took small sips.To me each fill is not the same. good luck

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
