I drove after 10 days. Just make sure that the seat is adjusted and if your e-brake requires you to bend over and pull, you do that before you get into the car. The bending and stretching to do those things can make you sore. However, no problem driving.

I had surgery on a Thursday, was driving on Monday and back to work on Tuesday. It definitely depends on how you feel and if you can react quickly (if needed) without hesitation while driving.

I drove 4 days after. Doctor just said be careful with driving and taking Meds.

Thanks guys, surgery was this past Monday and I have some places to be tomorrow. Pain meds no longer a concern, feeling great. Appreciation to those whom responded.

I had surgery Friday and drove for 6+ hours on Sunday. If was really not that hard

      Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
