Hi Everyone,

Well, I am approaching almost 3 years of being sleeved by Dr. Aceves in Mexicali, Mexico. He is the very best doctor I could have ever gone too, and his staff are all GREAT. It has been the best thing I have ever done for myself. I was the person who thought "what if I am the one person that this will not work on?". I was 63 when I had WLS. Well that was the wrong thing to think. I am the person that this DID work on.

It does take effort and work on my part to make this all happen. I tried to thank Dr. Aceves for what he did for me. He said "I only gave you the tool, you did all the work yourself, so take the credit for being successful." So, on that note I am taking the credit for my OWN success. It is not a diet, but a lifestyle change that is required. I never feel deprived.

Take care everyone,

Suzanne

Could you tell me about your journey? I have a lapband and want a sleeve. A friend of mine got a sleeve and another friend has a lapband. A friend with a lapband says her 2 siblings have sleeve and that the feeling of setiety and fullness goes away. Is that true?

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
