Harder than I thought

Recommended Posts

I'm 10 months out and it's much harder to maintain than I thought it would be, I have to get myself back on track to keep the weight loss, wondering if I should lose under goal and then it would'nt bother me? Any words of wisdom?

Do you want to yo -yo for the rest of your life? Is this why you want to loose more so you have a buffer zone? What are you eating that causes you to gain weight and not be able to maintain?

First of all 10 months out is still way to early about reaching your goal. You should set your goal at 2 years or at least 18 months. The last bit comes off more slowly than at first and you SHOULD slow down as you reach it and balance your weight with your intake.

Secondly if you are having psychological problems with food then either see a nutritionist, a psychologist or at least join a weight reduction group like Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig. The important part to realize is that you probably CANNOT do it all by yourself. We ALL gained our weight by ourselves but if sleevers are anything it's a testament to the fact that we CAN'T lose weight ourselves. We need the physical restrictions as well as a support network to hold us accountable. In a ways it's a lot like AA, you need to get a "sponsor".

You've taken the first step in posting here, now go out and find someone or a group who can help you the rest of the way.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
