  1. Hi, It has been a year since my sleeve and I feel like such a failure. I’ve only lost approx 40lbs since surgery. Will the liquid phase I’ve lost 80-90 lbs. While some might be happy, I have a LOT to lose. HW 430 lbs, S.W. 365lbs, current 320lbs and it’s remained there for 4-5 months. I’m so disappointed in myself and feel like I’ve failed. I have the option to get a revision from sleeve to bypass... has anyone done this? Is it worth it? I’m just worried I still won’t lose 😔 Thoughts?

    Sleeve to Bypass?

I’ve stabilized. Neither losing or gaining
  3. Should I be concerned? It’s about 6-7 months out and I’m only down about 60lbs?

First and last experience with dumping

I had a bit of a taco salad....so apparently taco seasoning is our commonality......that being said today I had two M&M and triggered it again....FML...so apparently tacos are out for a while and sweets are a no!

    Full now starving?!

Hi Folks, I was wondering if someone could share some insight..... I'm 4 weeks post op and right in the middle of the "3 week stall". I was super full after any and all liquids. Now I'm am eating food and even thought I find I mainly eat protein I'm starving. I can only eat maybe 2oz of protein at a time but then about 1hr later I'm starving, my stomach is talking, it's empty. Any ideas as to what is going on and how to deal with this? Terrified I'm eating to much or stretching my sleeve.

    Full now starving?!

I drink about 8-10 cups of water a day. I eat and focus on protein. Typical day: breakfast of either 1 c. cottage cheese or Greek yogurt. Lunch of some sort of protein like tuna, chicken ( no more than 2 oz), or cottage cheese. Dinner again is protein in the form of meat and maybe some veg if I have room. Snacks, maybe some fruit, had watermelon the other day. I'm also not that active right now as it's 30-34 degrees C out. I'm not used to this heat and worried about dehydration.

    I'm Cold?!

Ok, perhaps I'm losing my mind. I was sleeved June 30th and I have been decidedly cooler since I woke up. I actually get cold! I don't think I've been cold in years. Here in town we are seeing temperatures of 30c. I'm cold in the air conditioning. What the heck?! Has this happened to others? So weird.
  9. That was supposed to be June 30th. Lol
  10. How's everyone doing? Just got home today. Had a few bleeding issues. What are you eating? They moved me onto full fluids right away....just struggling to find things I can tolerate.
  11. Tomorrow is the day! How is everyone doing who had surgery?

    3 month liquid diet

Hi, I'm new here. Tomorrow I start my liquid diet. I'm only allowed 2 cups veggies and must drink 7-9 high Protein ensures. I'm also allowed Clear liquids. Has anyone done this? I'm terrified. I realize I'm probably going to detox from surgery, milk, carbs etc. just looking for any strategies. I do have advice from the dietitians, but as they have never had to do this, they simply look at it from the clinical point of view.

    3 month liquid diet

No insulin, apparently it can cause weight gain so I'm on quite a mix of meds. Have gained weight though so worried though.

    3 month liquid diet

My diabetic nurse is Nareen (I think) dietician is Amanda. She's been great after my blood surgeon thing but wasn't before. RN was Nikki too and I'm with Stephanie now I think. My sugars are around 8-9 now and I'm learning how to test them. everyone is also following my "eyes" so to speak quite closely. Thankfully I work with EMS so I'm covered ...lol...

    3 month liquid diet

So my blood sugars rocketed and I ended up in urgent care with a blood sugar of 35. Then about a week later ended up with huge issues with my eyes due to the high blood sugar. I lost my ability to see anything close, everything was extremely blurry . Have been working with the "team" and thankfully everything is getting better. Very frustrating for sure thought. However I've been put on a diet with real food. Admittedly I've cheated some...and gained back 10lbs which really upset me...but I'm getting there. Still a go for Jul 30th. So that is exciting. How are you? How was surgery? How was Dr. gill? Were you happy?

    Feeling sorry for myself

I have to admit I haven't made it the 3 months. The ensure sent my sugars sky rocketing and I ended up in urgent care with a blood sugar of 35. So now I'm allowed some food. I have cheated. Honestly in a way it was easier just on the liquids and veggies. I'm almost there thought. I have a surgery date of Jun30th. It's all worth it, right?
  19. Hi, so there is not many who would understand the excitement I feel but I think this group can appreciate it. Today I went for a walk, and well, frankly, I could. I manage ged to go and enjoy a walk without huffing and puffing and stopping every few feet. I'm so excited. I've lost enough weight that it wasn't a huge struggle! Before I couldn't walk a block without being winded, today I walked 2-3 km. I haven't even had surgery yet! What victories have you celebrated?

    Feeling sorry for myself

Hi, I am the woman who is on liquids for 3 months. My surgeon recommended this. He states it really improves the elasticity inside the abdomen. It's brutal. I have to admit this weekend I fell off track and ate some really food. But, I've picked myself up and am back on track today. I'm on a meal replacement (ensure) and 2 cups of non- starchy veggies a day. It's frustrating and hard. Just keep reminding myself of the end goal

    Let's celebrate small victories!👍👍

Most definitely worthy of celebration. Way to go! You must feel amazing.

I think I may pay for walking that far tomorrow, but I don't care. I'm still excited

    Feeling sorry for myself

I too feel your pain. I'm at about day 11. I'm on liquids for 3 months! Hang in there. Remind yourself of the end goal. Some days I go for a walk when the family is eating. I just need to get away. You can do this!

    3 month liquid diet

That fantastic you found a Dr to listen to your concerns. I too will be voicing my concerns about the dietician after my surgery. I have the added benefit of working for AHS so will speak to the manager or director after and explain my concerns and how this dietician doesn't follow our "values". I have decided to change my diet somewhat. I was on 7-9 ensure which is 1500-2000 cal. I have decided to add a little real protein and veggies. I don't think that will mess with improving my liver and I'm happier. E.g. Last night I had 3oz of chicken and 1 1/2 cup asparagus. This morning I had an egg with about 1/2 c mixed veg. I still had my coffee with ensure and will have ensure for lunch. Then for dinner, turkey and veggie. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
