I began my journey toward the Vertical Sleeve Gastronomy way back in February  of this year. Determined to make a change, I scheduled the initial consult and started the 6 month waiting game that included a lot of other tests, doctor visits, and nutrition consults. After the 6 months and all was ready to submit to insurance, I half forgot about it as a mechanism to cope with the potential disappoint of not being approved. Well, imagine my surprise when I received a phone call less than 2 weeks later with an approval and surgery date!! I will have VSG on September 18, 2017 - only 7 months after discovering and discussing the procedure with my surgeon. Weightloss here I come!
