  1. I am 9 days out and having some trouble. I was so excited a couple of days ago because I was going to be able to switch to puree foods. I was weighing in at 234 which was a full 10 pounds down from surgery day. On day 8, I tried some refried beans pureed with some salsa. I was able to eat about 1/2 cup. It was divine! Later that day I was able to try some thinned out mash potatoes and they didn't sit well. Well last night I tried some baked potato and I ate way too much too quickly and then I immediately regretted it. After dealing with that, I was just ready to go back to liquids. I drank a protein shake before bed in hopes that I wouldn't get woke up by my stomach "cramping" this morning. Well, it still happened. I am trying my best to get in as much water as possible during the day. I had severe gas pains this morning and I thought I was done with those, but undoubtedly this is going to be an ongoing issue. :( I am just not having a great day and I need some encouragement please. Please tell me this gets better and I am going to be able to advance to purees again.

      Do you have a list of food choices for puréed stage? I wouldn't try potatoes, empty starch and carbs and you need to get protein in to help you heal. Just my opinion. You should really stick to what your team say.

      Yes start with the protein first. It does get better☺

      I do have a list of approved items. I have had to go back to mostly liquids because my stomach is cramping horribly when trying anything. I did buy some buffalo chicken dip that is prepackaged, but has great stats. I will continue trying things each day, but maybe my stomach is just not ready for pureeds yet. I am definitely making sure I am getting my protein with the shakes as I venture out to new foods.
