  1. Hi, 8 months from surgery and 85 lbs down! I'm very happy i chose to do this. I'm 62, 5ft 5 in and was about 277 and now 192 so i have 42 more lbs to reach my goal of 150! I have to admit I love Skinny Popcorn. It has not hurt my weight loss but I feel guilty eating it. Does anyone else eat it? I still eat very little and no other junk food, protein, cheese, meat, yogurt, etc. Hope everyone else is doing well and if you are considering surgery, please just do it!!! I initially started to eat the triple zero yogurt but really didn't like it afterwards so now I just eat the Chobani and it works very well yes it has some sugar but it also has protein and one fills me up and it's actually a meal. [emoji175]sonkat5355[emoji175]

    hello

I try to get a lot of sleep at night, 8 to 10 hours. I didn't go bavk to work for 8 weeks because I wanted to heal and I don't have a sitting job. I haven't started my vitamins yet but will soon. I'm 9 weeks out. Now that I'm back at work as an art teacher on a cart i feel better but exhausted when bed time comes. I'm taking Vitamin B12 shots too. Good Luck....it takes the bidy a ling time to recuperate!
  7. I think you look fantastic! Don't let him get to you, he is feeling insecure because you are changing! [emoji175]sonkat5355[emoji175]

    My journey so far

Hi, i was sleeved Jan 31, 2017. I feel as you. Total loss 38.4. 14 pre op counted in that . 2 week stall. I eat what i have been told. No more than 600 to 800 cal. I eas told i should be at 900. Trying to eat every 2 to 3 hours. It's got to come off but after surgery i lost more than 1 lb a day. I think our bodys are like "wait a minute you lost alot of weight quickly, so slow down" LOL. Weight loss is a science that our bodies listen to, not us. Lol
  9. Hello, January 31, 2017, down 38.4 including 14 lbs pre-op. One week stall frustrsting. I am not chesting following food rules but may not est enough. I make tuna, pink salmon, chicken, crsbmeat, baby shrimp in a can mixed with mayo or 1 teaspoon coctail sauce (has sugar in it so very little). I eat scrambled, fried, hardboiled eggs, sunflower seeds ( i tolerate 1/4 cup), water, tea, coffee ( does not taste the same). If out salmon, mashed potatoes. Protein shake premade one a day. I will be more active Monday going back to work. It's a journey and not ss easy as some might think but I'm not hungry. Best of luck!
  10. THANK YOU FOR THE REPLY! I AM eating low carb, high protein and drinking water, and tracking every bite, taste and lick. I lost a pound yesterday and today it went up a pound. I think I'm going to weigh on one day a week now. I dont think I'm getting enough calories in. Maybe when i go back to work i will lose more. It is frustrating but as long ad I'm not cheating i have to lose eventually. I have read on these sites how some eat the wrong things, too much, etc and I don't. I have heard of mini stalls and big ones. I will be positive! Maybe my bidy is saying, "wow, 38 pounds in 8 or 9 weeks is alot" and is trying to stop me but eventually i will win!!!😎
  11. Hello, you look great and good for you. I am only 7 weeks out and lost 38 with my pre-diet and after surgery. My surgeon says to count the 14 pounds in the two weeks before because it affects your total weight loss. Last month I lost 12 pounds and it seems slow but it is about a couple of pounds a week which is frustrating to me. I need to eat more they say to lose more like 900 calories a day. In the past 3 weeks I have done more and go back to work Monday. I will walk around my school as the art on a cart art teacher to 24 rooms so I may lose more then. I have rested a lot because I was exhausted at first. I still get days like that. Once I retire in June I will try to go to a swimming pool for water aerobics and swimming. I have a treadmill and have been on 15 minutes at a time. I have to do better. Water will be better on my osteoarthritis. I am hoping to lose at least 10 to 12 pounds a month. I was losing a pound or more in the beginning for the first 3 weeks. My surgeon says you lose slower at my age. I will be 62 in May. Well, everyone keep up the good work.

    Post-Op problems

I brush my teeth alot. Also, buy Listerine strips work real well. [emoji175]sonkat5355[emoji175]
  13. I like colace 2 or 3 at night. Softener, I don't like ducolax it cramps you up. That makes me vomit. My BM are every few days. That's when I see results on the scale. Lol [emoji175]sonkat5355[emoji175]

I could eat at that stage and even now 6 weeks later. Cottage cheese, hard boiled egg pureed with mayo, popsicles, water sipping, shakes sipping, tuna pureed with mayo. Applesauce, yogurt. No more than 1 11/2 ounce or 2 ounces. [emoji175]sonkat5355[emoji175]

Also, Ducalax cramps me and I want to vomit so I stay away from it. Fiber or stool softeners are best. [emoji175]sonkat5355[emoji175]

    Preventing constipation TMI

I may try that. I now realize the really awful malaise I'm feeling is when I'm backed up. It's a nausea like morning sickness. Once I went I felt normal again. How quickly does the Miramax work?. I have to time bathroom breaks cause if it hits when your out it's scary. [emoji175]sonkat5355[emoji175]

    Darkness

Hello, I just saw your post from Monday. Wow, Stop the sad thoughts. Not easy but call a friend and get out of the house. I am so sorry about your past and husband and relationship. I really think you should talk to a professional. You are not to blame, stop looking back. You sound young and you have your life in front of you. Plus, continue eating healthy. Do you have children? I was alone in most of my marriage and I just made my family me and my kids and persevered by doing what I wanted, remodeling my house, taking the kids places, etc. I too get a bit depressed here and there and try to push through it. I'm not a psychologist but I feel you need to talk to someone that can help you dissect what you are going through. There is an inspirational young man who speaks on line and he makes so much sense. You can follow him on Instagram, Facebook. His name is Trent Shelton. Take care and God Bless.

    Chest pain when swallowing

Surgery and hernia 3 days ago. Described me to a T. ????sonkat5355????
  23. I'm 3 days post op, female, 61+ and feel weak and tired. Having trouble doing all the liquid they want like 64 Oz but get in 15 to 20 Oz. It hurts when the liquid us going down from the esophagus to the stomach. I had a repair of hiatal hernia so maybe that's why. I called and they say it's normal to just continually sip bits and bits. I feel like a truck hit me and going to sleep now. Is this how you all felt...let me know? Thank you!???? ????sonkat5355????
  24. WOW, Please don't let negative, selfish people ruin your plans. I am almost 62 and doing it Jan. 31, 2017!!! Scared, anxious but need to push through that. This is for a better life for you and I'm sure your personality will stay in tact but it won't if you are ill from other things by staying overweight. I think these are the same people that like to sabotage diets! I always did better on diets by not telling people and just fibbing and saying I wasn't hungry or had already eaten if they bothered me about food. I have told my kids and few other people who are supportive. No one at work knows because I felt it was my business but they do know I'm having surgery and you can lose weight after surgery. I work at an elementary school and with some very nice people and some not so very nice people. So I feel with privacy laws I did not have to say a thing. Not one person has been non-supportive but I know they are out there. Less than 10 close people know. I realize you would like support from friends but you can find it with the supportive friends and relatives, sites like this. I know Facebook has a Sleever's site as well. I got off because I saw posts on my feed. I wanted it private. This is a great site so use it to your advantage. Also, I am going to go to the support groups at my hospital once a month. Went to the seminar. Best of Luck to you and YES, DO IT FOR YOU AND NO ONE ELSE!!!
  25. Hello, I am Jan. 31, 2017. More than a month ahead I bought the premier shakes in chocolate, strawberry Cream, banana, and Caramel. Only can drink the Chocolate the others are sickening sweet to me. My daughter is using the others except my son is using the Caramel. BUY the Bariatric Cream Soups on amazon. The Savory taste is so nice at night. Now my nutritionist let me cut up cooked chicken breast it it. But my surgeons nurse said not this last weekend. UGH! I have lost very well on the pre-op 12. 4 lbs. Tomorrow, is the Clear liquids. I wish I could take a pill to sleep through it. lol Like the Popsicle, Jello. Have it all prepared so you don't have to stress last minute buying it all. I, also, bought the natural juice pineapple, peach, mandarin orange cups for later, and natural or Splenda applesauce and cottage cheese. This way it is there and I can throw in the food processor. Also, Tyson or other brand cooked chicken tenders to heart and process with applesauce. I have not gotten the Vitamins yet but one week after surgery I'm bringing in all my Vitamin bottles to ask the dr. or nutritionist if I can use them. Got a prescription for vitamin B 12 shots from my dr and ordered that. My daughter is a RN and will give them once a month. I need to get Biotin for my hair and skin, plus a good skin oil or cream since I have dry skin. Just do everything you need to do because it's still stressful for me but I don't have to go buy all the things last minute. Best of Luck, I think we all have our anxieties.
