  1. The unrealjohn I'm UK too and diet was low carb, low fat and around 1000 calories a day. Unlimited water/sugar free squash etc. Milk was counted but we added a meal replacement shake to get protein in as well as food. Lost 9kg with that and now I'm down 25kg. What I found is Morrison's do a shake powder for under £4 and it's brilliant, asda do same but not as nice. Good luck! Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    TMI**** Women ONLY****

Yeah I had my period and a cathether, had to remove tampon and go free flow but your lying on absorbent pads so no worries there. When I woke up my nurse in the HDU put a tampon in for me and gave me pain relief and a hot water bottle. My period pain was worse than surgical pain lol Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Lose Weight without Surgery

The balloon is available over here for a good while but is rarely used and expensive as there is no support structure set up for it. Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Hairloss

Try Argan Oil, I've got alopecia and it really helps me. Not sure price wise but here in Scotland it's about £20 for massive bottles of shampoo and conditioner that lasts 6 months. Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. I get intertrigo so I totally get the irritating skin rash that hurts like hell. My treatment is potassium permanganate baths and an emollient called Dermol - use the emollient daily as a soap substitute and bath/ soak in the PP at least weekly. Hope that maybe gives you some help Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Leaving dieting behind

Dumping can happen with the sleeve and if it's what I had last week I never want it again. Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Pregnancy

Sounds like your friends are pushing and being judgmental about a major life decision. ONLY YOU know when your ready and tbh, weight loss may help increase fertility so tell them to shove it in a pipe and smoke it. [emoji16] Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Mom or Dad sleevers?

Patienteleventybillion! [emoji4][emoji177] I totally agree with being blunt about this surgery, my MIL constantly nags me about it and tries to say it's not a miracle cure etc - duh! Just cause she was too old for it doesn't mean she gets to be an expert. Anyway, I try and explain to our two and half year old that mummy is shrinking to ensure play time is as long as possible, that she's here for as long as possible. When she's older I will explain it again but my main motivation for this surgery which took me ten years to get is to learn new skills, learn how to be healthy and put it into practice. Am I succeeding? Yes, do I fail sometimes - yes. But I will never ever let my daughter and any other children we are blessed with make my mistakes. Mom or Dad sleevers?

Yeah I have a toddler and was sleeved last month. She's noticed a difference and so have I, at our playgroup I can chase her and not be winded. She likes using the now shrinking boob's as drums and keeps checking they are there as they not so big lol Our wee one is still young but having friends with school-age kids and had surgery too the biggest issue they had is when their kids told the whole school about the surgery. 10. I had similar and was just told it is normal (for me) as it's new tissue and healing happening. Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. I have had the same feeling since surgery last month and ita defo not food that's stuck with me. When we had a tube down our throats for surgery it obviously makes us very dry and irritates the throat. What my surgeon said to me is sometimes when the tube is in, it creates a wee dent in the throat which can take a few weeks to clear. Symptoms of something stuck the size of a Lego cube in throat is most normal one and it feels like it moves then comes back. Mine is thankfully almost gone but really annoying. catheters

Yeah had one. Surgery took Max 2 hours then everyone in Bariatric goes into HDU for 24hrs. Very happy I had catheter in as those 24hrs I couldn't get up to go. Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Periods and food

I'm lucky enough to have minimal symptoms (Santa beard is worst) but when I get cramps it's worse than a full on contraction. 4 weeks post surgery today and coming off BC, yeah surgeon gonna love me on Friday for check up [emoji15] Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Periods and food

Yeah I have PCOS but it's reacting to the nexplanon implant and mini pill. Tranexamic acid doesn't help so I'm away to doctor today to get it out and maybe hospital to get a "girly check" as hubby calls it lol. Gotta love pcos! Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Periods and food

Little tip with lush product called Sakura (bath bomb). Crumble it up and add half of one to your towels and bedsheet wash instead of washing powder. It won't dye, stain and cleans everything beautifully with the added smell of the product. Love from Scotland - day 140 of period from hell. Sent from my HTC One M9 using BariatricPal mobile app
