Hi my name is Rod and I was at 325 pounds at 6 feet tall...I had tried to keep weight off through different diet but was never successful . I had been thinking about getting the lap band for several years but was never able
to afford it and had no insurance.
Finally in 2009 I was able to afford the procedure and got it February 9 th of 2009! I had a few friends that had the lap band before me so it took some of my fears away that I had . I was concerned that I was not gonna be able to take pain medicine after my procedure . I'm a recovering addict/alcoholic. One of my friends relapsed from the medicine after the procedure so I was very aware of the problem.
I think I lost 20 pounds right off the bat . Pretty much sticking to liquid diet for the first year.I worked out with trainer for my first two years . I reached a bump in the road at 250 pounds where I just couldn't lose anymore weight....I think it was about a year later that I was able to lose a little more....I made it all the way down to 200 pounds .Then about 6 months ago , I gained 20 pounds back and am now in the process of loosing that . This is my goal.
