Hey all! We're sure you've already noticed that BariatricPal was upgraded on 2/6/2017. If you happen to stumble across any bugs or issues, we'd love it if you could create a topic here to notify us of the bug so that we can squash it and keep your experience as desirable as possible! Thank you!

To allow surgery wounds to heal, only light activity is permitted after surgery. Patients should avoid lifting heavy objects, such as grocery bags, full laundry baskets and children. Continuing to move as much as possible, however, can speed recovery. Walking around the house and folding laundry are examples of very light activities that can help.

Many patients can get back to work within two weeks of surgery, although this is delayed if there are complications or if the job demands more physical activity. Within weeks, a full range of normal activities should be safe.
